Continental Becomes Exclusive OE Tire Supplier for the New Electric Renault Twingo

Continental has secured an exclusive original equipment (OE) contract with Renault for the new all-electric Renault Twingo, supplying the vehicle worldwide with its 18-inch EcoContact 7 tires. The agreement reinforces Continental's position as a leading supplier of energy-efficient tires for next-generation electric vehicles.

The latest Renault Twingo leaves the production line exclusively equipped with Continental's EcoContact 7, a tire specifically developed to maximize efficiency while maintaining high levels of safety and driving comfort. Designed for modern electric mobility, the tire has received top ratings on the European tire label for both rolling resistance and external rolling noise.

Continental's EcoContact 7 incorporates several advanced technologies to optimize vehicle performance. Its Smart Energy Casing reduces rolling resistance, helping to increase driving range and improve overall energy efficiency. At the same time, the innovative Aerodimple sidewall structure minimizes aerodynamic drag, while the Silent Pattern tread design significantly lowers road noise, enhancing ride comfort for drivers and passengers alike.

The exclusive fitment reflects the growing importance of tire technology in electric vehicle development, where reducing energy consumption and improving efficiency directly contribute to extended battery range. By combining low rolling resistance with strong wet and dry performance, Continental aims to support Renault's objective of delivering an affordable, practical, and highly efficient urban electric vehicle.

The new Renault Twingo represents the latest generation of Renault's compact electric city car and is designed to make zero-emission urban mobility accessible to a broader audience. Continental's selection as the sole tire supplier underlines the manufacturer's confidence in the EcoContact 7's ability to meet the demanding performance requirements of modern battery-electric vehicles.

With this partnership, Continental continues to expand its portfolio of original equipment collaborations with leading automotive manufacturers, demonstrating its commitment to developing tire technologies that enhance efficiency, sustainability, and driving performance as the global transition toward electric mobility accelerates.
