Continental completes sale of ContiTrade France to ASC Investment

Continental has completed the sale of its French tyre service and distribution business, ContiTrade France, to ASC Investment, marking another important step in the company's transformation of its European retail network. The transaction follows the announcement made in December 2025 and has now officially been finalized.

The business transferred to ASC includes more than 130 company-owned BestDrive service centres, two tyre retreading facilities, and the administrative operations supporting the tyre and vehicle maintenance business. Approximately 1,200 employees are part of the transaction. Financial details of the agreement have not been disclosed.

Despite the change in ownership, Continental confirmed that all affected service centres will continue operating under the BestDrive France brand through long-term franchise agreements. This ensures continuity for customers while allowing ASC Investment to manage the business with greater operational flexibility.

According to Continental, the new ownership structure is intended to enable faster decision-making and a more agile market approach, while preserving the established BestDrive network across France. The move is also consistent with Continental's strategy of focusing on a fully franchised retail model in the French market.

Véronique Giraud, Head of Continental's tyre business in France, emphasized that the company remains committed to supporting its franchise partners and helping them expand their businesses. Continental will continue supplying products, digital services and fleet solutions through the BestDrive network.

The transaction represents another milestone in Continental's broader strategy of streamlining its business structure and concentrating on its core tyre activities while maintaining a strong presence in the European replacement market through strategic partnerships and franchise operations.
