Goodyear Opens Motor City Garage and Marks Dream Cruise with Rare Double Blimp Event
Goodyear has officially opened its new Goodyear Motor City Garage retail concept in Detroit, combining a modern customer experience with the company's rich automotive heritage. The launch coincides with the 2026 Woodward Dream Cruise, one of the world's largest celebrations of classic cars and automotive culture.
Located in the heart of Detroit, the new Motor City Garage is designed to showcase Goodyear's latest tyre and vehicle service offerings while creating a destination that reflects the brand's long-standing connection to the American automotive industry. The concept blends retail, vehicle maintenance and immersive brand experiences in a unique environment inspired by the city's automotive legacy.
A major highlight of the celebrations will be a rare double Goodyear Blimp appearance during the Woodward Dream Cruise. For the first time in nearly two decades, two iconic Goodyear Blimps will fly together above Detroit, providing aerial coverage of the event and celebrating one of the most recognised symbols in motorsport and automotive history.
The Woodward Dream Cruise attracts more than 1.5 million visitors and around 40,000 classic, collector and custom vehicles every year, making it one of North America's largest automotive events. In addition to the twin blimps, Goodyear will also feature interactive activities and remotely operated mini blimps, creating an engaging experience for visitors of all ages.
With the opening of Motor City Garage, Goodyear is reinforcing its commitment to innovation, customer engagement and the future of tyre retail while celebrating the heritage that has made the company one of the world's most recognised tyre brands. The combination of a new flagship retail concept and the spectacular double blimp event demonstrates how Goodyear continues to connect its history with modern mobility experiences.
