Kumho Tire Secures OE Supply for Škoda Scala with ECSTA HS52
Kumho Tire has expanded its original equipment (OE) business in Europe by securing a new supply agreement with Škoda Auto, part of the Volkswagen Group. The company will supply its ECSTA HS52 summer tyre for the Škoda Scala in the sizes 205/55 R16 and 205/50 R17.
The Škoda Scala is one of the Czech manufacturer's key compact hatchback models and is sold across more than 100 markets, with Europe representing its primary sales region. Known for its spacious interior, practical design and advanced driver assistance systems, the model continues to be an important vehicle in Škoda's passenger car portfolio.
According to Kumho Tire, the ECSTA HS52 has been developed to deliver a balance of driving comfort, safety and high-speed performance. The tyre features an optimized tread pattern with large tread blocks designed to distribute contact pressure more evenly across the road surface, helping to reduce vibration and noise while improving ride comfort and handling.
"The selection of the ECSTA HS52 as original equipment for a key Škoda model demonstrates the global recognition of our technological capabilities and product quality," said Insoo Kim, Executive Vice President of OE Sales at Kumho Tire. He added that the company will continue developing high-performance tyres for a wide range of vehicle segments while strengthening partnerships with global automotive manufacturers.
The latest OE nomination supports Kumho Tire's continued expansion in the European market. Following its strongest financial performance since the company's founding in 2025, Kumho is targeting annual revenue of KRW 5.1 trillion in 2026 through higher sales volumes and improved cost efficiency. The company also plans to further increase its original equipment business with European vehicle manufacturers as part of its strategy to strengthen its position as a premium tyre brand.
Kumho Tire has steadily expanded its portfolio of original equipment customers in recent years, supplying tyres for passenger cars, electric vehicles and SUVs produced by several global automotive manufacturers.
