Model Solution launches partnership with ArtCenter College of Design
Fostering global talent through hands-on experience at the interface of design and manufacturing
Implementation of student designs into high-precision prototypes
Comprehensive support for prototype manufacturing, logistics, and technical CAD/CMF consulting.
Model Solution Co., Ltd. has entered into an agreement with the ArtCenter College of Design (USA) to foster global design talent. A subsidiary of Hankook, Model Solution is known for its innovative designs, prototype and small-series development in the future technologies sector and is a key component of the Hankook Group's medium- to long-term portfolio planning.
Founded in 1930, the ArtCenter College of Design in Pasadena, California, is a globally recognized design school specializing in industrial and mobility design, known for its practice-oriented curriculum.
Practical implementation of design concepts
The partnership combines the ArtCenter curriculum with Model Solution's prototyping technologies and manufacturing capabilities. Selected projects from the "3D Modeling 3" course (Spring Semester 2026) will be produced by Model Solution as high-quality, production-ready prototypes and handed over to the students at the end of the semester. The course assignments focus on product categories closely related to Model Solution's business areas: wearable smart devices, personal mobility, drones, mobile and IoT devices, and medical technology.
The students experience the entire manufacturing process: precise CAD checks, application of CMF specifications, and selection of structures and materials suitable for mass production. Model Solution covers all manufacturing and logistics costs.
Model Solutions CEO Hyungmin Yoo: “The collaboration between Model Solutions and the ArtCenter College of Design combines design education with real manufacturing technologies and offers students an authentic industry experience.”
Further commitment to talent development
Model Solution is further expanding its initiatives to promote design talent. The company is involved in organizing the PIN UP Concept Design Award 2026 and the MOA (Model One Award), which has been realizing outstanding student projects as prototypes since 2016. The company also supports the "Korea Design Membership Plus" program and participates in the Seoul Design Foundation's "Company + Young Designer Brand Exhibition." The aim of these initiatives is also to gain insights into future industries and emerging design trends by collaborating with the next generation of designers.
