NEXEN TIRE Becomes Original Equipment Supplier for BYD Electric Vehicles

NEXEN TIRE has announced its first original equipment (OE) tire supply agreement with Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer BYD. Under the partnership, the South Korean tire maker will equip two of BYD's electric vehicle models—the BYD SEAL 6 and the BYD Dolphin Surf—with tires specifically developed to meet the demands of modern EVs.

The BYD SEAL 6, which is exported to several international markets including Australia, will be fitted with NEXEN TIRE's ultra-high-performance N'FERA Sport summer tire. Designed for dynamic handling and high-speed stability, the tire has received strong recognition in independent European tire tests.

For the European market, the compact BYD Dolphin Surf will feature the N'Blue S, a high-efficiency summer tire engineered to reduce rolling resistance while delivering improved wet braking and drainage performance. The tire has been developed to support Europe's increasingly demanding efficiency and emissions standards, making it particularly well suited for electric vehicles.

The agreement represents an important milestone for NEXEN TIRE, marking its first OE collaboration with BYD—one of the world's fastest-growing electric vehicle manufacturers. Since entering the global OE business in 2012, NEXEN TIRE has expanded its supply network to numerous international automotive brands, including several premium European manufacturers.

According to CEO John Bosco (Hyeon Suk) Kim, the new partnership demonstrates the company's ability to deliver advanced tire technologies optimized for both electric and conventional vehicles. NEXEN TIRE expects the collaboration to further strengthen its position in the rapidly expanding global electric mobility market while opening new opportunities with international automakers.
