Pyrum Doubles Q1 Revenue as Commercial Tire Recycling Business Gains Momentum

Pyrum Innovations AG has reported a significant increase in revenue for the first quarter of 2026, reflecting continued progress in scaling its tyre recycling business. Revenue more than doubled to €1.03 million, compared with €0.51 million in the same period last year, supported by higher income from consulting and engineering services as well as the expansion of plant operations.

While sales developed positively, the company remained in an investment and ramp-up phase. EBITDA amounted to -€2.42 million, while the net result reached -€3.74 million. Pyrum noted that the comparison with the previous year is affected by public investment grants received during the completion of its Thermolysis plants, making the year-on-year earnings comparison less meaningful.

A major operational milestone was achieved during the quarter with the successful commissioning of the new grinding and pelletising plant. In June, Pyrum began the first commercial deliveries of ThermoTireBlack® (TTB) from the facility after receiving unrestricted product approval from Continental, marking an important step toward industrial-scale production of recovered carbon black for the tyre industry.

For the full year 2026, Pyrum confirmed its guidance and expects revenue of €6.5–9.5 million, while continuing to invest in expanding production capacity and international recycling projects. The company also reiterated its objective of achieving a positive EBITDA in 2027, as additional recycling plants come online and commercial production volumes continue to increase.

To support its long-term growth strategy, Pyrum is evaluating several financing options, including the potential involvement of a strategic investor. The additional capital would help finance further production facilities and accelerate the international rollout of the company's patented thermolysis technology.

The latest quarterly results underline both the opportunities and challenges facing fast-growing recycling technology companies. While profitability remains impacted by expansion costs, Pyrum continues to strengthen its position as one of Europe's leading innovators in end-of-life tyre recycling and the production of sustainable raw materials for new tyre manufacturing.
