Thai Bridgestone and NX Logistics Thailand Partner to Advance Circular Tire Management
Thai Bridgestone has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nippon Express Logistics (Thailand) Co., Ltd. to strengthen collaboration on sustainability, circular economy initiatives and corporate social responsibility. The partnership combines Bridgestone's expertise in tire technology with NX Logistics Thailand's logistics capabilities to establish a more sustainable value chain for end-of-life tires and contribute to Thailand's environmental goals.
A central focus of the collaboration is the responsible management of used tires. Retreadable tire casings will be directed into premium retreading processes, extending their service life, while tires that have reached the end of their usable life will enter certified recycling streams. The initiative aims to maximize resource efficiency, prevent improper disposal and reduce the environmental footprint of tire management through Circular Economy principles.
Beyond tire recycling, both companies will jointly analyze tire condition and removal data to improve tire utilization, extend service life and increase the suitability of tires for retreading. These efforts are expected to support more efficient fleet management while reducing material consumption and waste generation across the transportation sector.
The partnership also includes several community-focused CSR initiatives. Thai Bridgestone and NX Logistics Thailand will cooperate on the B-SAFE road safety awareness program in partnership with the Saraburi Branch of the Department of Land Transport, while also supporting biodiversity and environmental conservation projects at the Phu Khae Botanical Garden. These activities reinforce both companies' commitment to creating long-term social and environmental value.
Akihito Ishii, Managing Director of Thai Bridgestone, described the agreement as an important milestone in expanding the long-standing business relationship between the two organizations. He emphasized that climate change and resource management require strong partnerships and that collaboration is essential to creating sustainable value for customers, society, the environment and future generations.
The collaboration also supports the Bridgestone E8 Commitment, particularly the values of Ecology and Empowerment, and contributes to the company's long-term sustainability targets. Bridgestone aims to increase the share of recycled and renewable materials used in tire production to 40% by 2030, while progressing toward its vision of achieving 100% sustainable materials by 2050. Through partnerships such as this, Thai Bridgestone continues to strengthen its position as a sustainable solutions company while accelerating the transition to a circular tire economy.
